| Mechanism of Action |
Momesol is effective in the treatment of dermatoes due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and vasoconstrictive actions.It acts locally by reducing inflammation and releases several mediators which include histamines, PG's and leukotrienes.

| Side Effects |
Momesol is generally well tolerated. Some of the rarely reported side effects are burning, itching and dryness.

| Contradictions |
Momesol is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to betamethasone dipropionate
|

| Observations |
• An increase in the number of daily applications may worsen the undesirable effects without improving the therapeutic effects
• Prolonged use of corticosteroids on the face at high dose runs the risk of onset of corticosteroid-induced dermatitis. Paradoxically corticosteroid sensitivity will rebound after each discontinuation
• It is recommended that not more than 30g / week be used of this highly potent corticosteroid skin preparation
