Efishal is a fat soluble vitamin, used in the treatment of vitamin E deficiencies

Indications

Treatment of vitamin E deficiencies : muscle atrophy, active myopia, urinary incontinence in females, spermatogenesis deficiency, sexual organ atrophy, abortion. Vitamin E improves the discomfort of pregnancy and the menopause, prevents ankylosis (muscle stiffness) and degenerative nerve dispositions (depression).

Pharmacological Properties

Antioxidant vitamin protecting the polyunsaturate fatty acids in the cell membrane

Mechanism of Action

Inhibition of the oxidation of polyunsaturate fatty acids in the cell membrane.

Side Effects

Vitamin E is normally well tolerated. At very high doses it can lead to diarrhoea, gastro-intestinal disorders

Observations

Contact dermatitis has been observed after topical application.
