Mechanism of Action

• Salbutamol acts selectively on the beta 2 receptors of the bronchial smooth muscle, resulting in bronchodilation
• Bromhexine is a mucolytic type mucomodifier
• Guaifenesine is a respiratory airway antiseptic
• The menthol also acts as an antiseptic

Side Effects

Very rare (at high doses, tremor of the hands, cardiac palpitations, muscle cramp, mild tachycardia and gastrointestinal disorders may be observed)

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to one of the components

Observations

Shaltoux should be used with caution in patients suffering from hyperthyroidism, severe cardiovascular disorders, severe hypertension, diabetes mellitus and stomach ulcer
