Mechanism of Action
•Gliben appears to lower the blood glucose acutely by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas, an effect dependent upon functioning beta cells in the pancreatic islets

Nausea,Epigastric bloating,

Diarrhoea, Skin reactions, Photosensitivity,

Cross sensitivity to sulphonamide its derivative
•
Vasculitis & hepatic disorders
Contradictions
Subject hypersensitivity to Glibenclamide & Diabetic ketoacidosis, with or without coma
Observations
Not to be used in severe liver or kidney dysfunction.
