| Mechanism of Action |
• Prazole inhibits secretion of gastric acid by irreversibly blocking the enzyme sty stem of H+/K+ ATPase the 'Proton pump' of the gastric parietal cell

| Observations |
• Prazole (Omeprazole) should be stored in a tight container and away from children.
• Can cause hypergastrinaemia due to prolonged achlorhydria
