Tinizol
Tinidazole is an anti-parasitic drug used against protozoan infections. It is widely known throughout Europe and the developing world as treatment for a variety of amoebic and parasitic infections

Indications
Amibiasis, trichomonasis, lambliasis, candidiasis, anaerobic organism infections
Pharmacological Class
Nitro-imidazole derivative
Pharmacological Properties
Active on amoeba, trichomonas, candida and bactericidal on gram+ and gram- anaerobic organisms
Mechanism of Action
Taken orally, it is rapidly absorbed. Its diffusion in the tissue is excellent and broad

Contact amoebicide in the digestive tract

Tissue amoebicide in its extra-tissue locations (liver, lung, kidneys, etc.) Its mechanism of action is thought to involve interference with DNA by a metabolite in which the nitro group of Metronidazole has been reduced
Side Effects
Rare : gastro-intestinal, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, etc
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to imidazoles. It is strongly recommended that the consumption of alcoholic drinks or drugs containing alcohol be avoided (Antabuse effect).
Observations
This drug should not be taken at meal times.
