Formulation: Ceftriaxone 1gm Inj
Packaging Unit: Pack of 25 x 1g vial.
Dosage: For I.M. injection, SHAXIN 1g is dissolved in 3.6ml of Sterile Water for Injection, or 0.9% Sodium Chloride Solution, or 5% Dextrose Solution, or 1% lidocaine solution, shake vial thoroughly to form solution. The lidocaine solution must never be administered intravenously. For I.V. injection, SHAXIN 1g is dissolved in 9.6 ml of Sterile Water for Injection, or 0.9% Sodium Chloride Solution, or 5% Dextrose Solution, shake vial thoroughly to form solution. Continue dilution with 100ml-250ml 0.9% Sodium Chloride Solution or 5% Dextrose Solution to form intravenous infusion.

Indications
Shaxin is indicated for the treatment of i) Lower respiratory tract infection ii) Upper respiratory tract infection iii) Pneumonia iv) Meningitis v) Pelvic inflammatory disease vi) Skin and skin structure infections vii) Septicaemia viii) Surgical prophylaxis ix) Bacteraemia x) Bone and joint infections xi) Intra-abdominal infection.
Pharmacological Properties
Mechanism Of Action
Shaxin is active against many gram + ve & gram - ve organisms including anaerobes. It has activity against beta-lactamases producing microorganisms and Shaxin inhibits bacterial biosynthesis by inhibiting cell wall synthesis and resulting in bacterial cell death.
Contraindications
Shaxin is not suitable to the patients who are hypersensitive to cephalosporins.
