Packaging Unit: 30ml Suspension
Dosage: Children above 1 year: Threadworm & pinworm: 5ml suspension given as a single dose. Roundworm, tapeworm, Necator americanus, whipworm, common hookworm & mixed infections : 5ml suspension twice a day in the morning & and in the evening for 3 consecutive days. Adults: 5ml twice a day for 3 consecutive days.

Dosage: Adults and children over 1 year: Threadworm, pinworm (enterobiasis): 1 tablet as a single dose. Whipworm (trichuriasis), common roundworm (ascariasis) & hookworm: 1 tablet in the morning and in the evening for 3 consecutive days.Wormex 500 chewable tablet: Adults and children above two years: one tablet given as a single dose. A second dose should be given after three to four weeks of the first dose to those patients who are still infested.

Indications
Wormex is indicated for the treatment of Enterobius vermicularis (Pinworm), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (common Roundworm), Ancylostoma duodenale (common Hookworm), Necator americanus (American Hookworm) in single or mixed infections.

Mechanism Of Action
Wormex acts by inhibiting the formation of microtubules in the parasite and causing glucose depletion.
Side Effects
Abdominal pain and diarrhea, convulsions, neutropenia, agranulocytosis, liver function test elevations and hepatitis are observed very occasionally when Wormex is taken for prolonged periods. Some of the rarely observed side effects with the use of Wormex are Nausea, diarrhoea, skin rash & hair loss.
Contraindications
Wormex is contraindicated in persons who are hypersensitive to the drug. Wormex is contraindicated in age below 2 years.
Observations
Treatment does not require any laxatives, the dose should be repeated after 2 to 3 weeks because of auto-infestation. The tablets should be taken with a little water or chewed during meals.
