Shalina Pharmacy Ltd was established in South Sudan in Feb’12. First thing Shalina Healthcare did was to take possession of a 600 Sq. meters of prime retail and office space in the Hai Cinema area of Juba, close to the main market area of Konyo Konyo. The surrounding area has the main concentration of pharmacies. South Sudan celebrated its 1st year of independence on 9th Jul’12.
Regulatory infrastructure and its markets are all in the early stages of their evolution. While many international investors have delayed entering such a daunting market, Shalina Healthcare took a bold step and now has operations of a significant size. Final regulatory and import approvals were received in late May resulting in steady sales growth.
