Canderm Powder

Canderm Powder
Canderm powder contains a combination of antifungal medicine, clotrimazole, and a skin protectant, zinc oxide. People use it to treat and prevent fungal skin infections like ringworm, Athlete's foot, jock itch and pityriasis Versicolor (a fungal infection that causes small patches of discoloured spots on the skin). Canderm powder is also used to absorb excess moisture or perspiration in areas of skin folds to reduce the risk of fungal infection and friction rashes.

Athlete's Foot (Tinea pedis)
  • Athlete’s Foot is a contagious fungal infection that occurs between the toes.
  • The most common complaint is itchy white patches between the toes. Other complaints include:
    • sore, flaky patches
    • cracked, peeling or scaly skin
    • burning or stinging
    • blisters
  • Individuals who wear tight-fitting (non-breathable) shoes, sweat excessively, walk barefoot in public areas and are in close contact with infected persons are at increased risk of developing Athlete’s foot.
  • Treat the Athlete’s Foot with a topical antifungal agent such as Canderm Powder.
  • Intertrigo is a common skin condition that occurs because of skin-to-skin friction in warm, moist areas of the body. Commonly, this causes fungal skin infections.
  • Intertrigo can develop in the groin area, between folds of skin such as the abdomen, under breasts, as well as on the underarms or between toes.
  • Common symptoms include a red rash, itching, stinging, burning or pain in the affected area.
  • Treat uninfected intertrigo by keeping the area dry, clean and cool. In comparison, treat infected intertrigo with antifungal or antibacterial skin cream, powder or lotion.
Jock Itch (Tinea cruris)
  • Jock itch is a highly contagious fungal skin infection in the groin, inner thigh and between buttocks.
  • It causes reddened, itchy, scaly patches in the infected area.
  • Firstly, the risk of developing jock itch is higher in males. Secondly, people who wear tight underwear. Thirdly, heavier individuals. Fourthly, people who sweat a lot. Lastly, people who have weakened immune systems and diabetes.
  • Treat Jock itch with a topical antifungal agent, like Canderm powder.
  • Hyperhidrosis is excessive perspiration that occurs without heat or exercise. It leads to discomfort and embarrassment and disturbs routine activities.
  • It usually affects the hands, feet, underarms, or face.
  • Hyperhidrosis can increase the risk of skin infection.
  • Use antiperspirant powders to absorb the excessive sweat and prevent and reduce the risk of further infection.

Why Use Canderm Powder

Firstly, Canderm powder is useful in fungal skin infections that appear between the toes (Athlete’s foot). Secondly, in the groin area (jock itch). Thirdly, it is helpful in skin folds (sweat rash). Canderm powder absorbs excessive perspiration or exudate (hyperhidrosis), moisture-aggravated heat and friction rashes (intertrigo), soothing irritated skin and protection against skin rashes.

Canderm contains clotrimazole which is clinically proven to cure fungal skin infections. Furthermore, it reduces itching, red rash and scaling due to moist areas, skin friction and fungal skin infections.

Clotrimazole is the major active ingredient in Canderm powder, i.e., the primary mechanism is antifungal action. Thus, this leads to on-label uses mainly covering skin fungal problems.

Furthermore, Canderm powder also contains Zinc oxide (in addition to clotrimazole). Zinc oxide has the following benefits:

  • Skin protection
  • Soothes skin
  • Eases irritation

Firstly, Canderm powder contains both clotrimazole and zinc oxide, which are clinically proven to cure fungal skin infections and reduce itching, skin friction, and fungal skin infection. Secondly, it reduces red rash and scaling due to moist areas.

Specifically, Canderm in its powder form is convenient to apply and highly suitable for moist areas where it helps keep the area dry. Thus, it adds comfort for the patient. Additionally, Canderm powder is available in a floral fragrance, which feels pleasant when applied. Hence, it adds further to patient comfort.

In some instances, ointments and creams feel greasy or sticky, leading to discomfort while wearing socks or footwear. On the contrary, Canderm powder can be dusted on cloth and footwear. Thus, it is preferred over ointments and creams. It is beneficial in areas between the toes, skin folds and in excessive perspiration where dryness is most desired.

Canderm powder is a quality product manufactured at a WHO-approved facility.
