Shalina Featured on Bloomberg TV Documentary – “It’s Africa’s Time”
The agenda about Africa is no longer dominated by subjects such as aid and corruption. The talk is now about opportunity’ – Maria Ramos, CEO of Barclays Absa.
It’s Africa’s Time is a TV series produced in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to promote and encourage the adoption of an ‘inclusive business’ model as a component of corporate growth strategy in Africa, and to demonstrate how this approach can make a contribution towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It’s Africa’s Time contacted Shalina to tell our story of how we are building a reputation for quality affordable medicines across Africa. ‘If the people of Africa don’t have access to affordable healthcare, there’s no point in promoting a broader development agenda on the continent’…wise words from a delegate at a recent conference on Africa’s future.
Shalina Healthcare’s business model and impact is centered on the sustainable availability of high quality affordable medicines delivered to hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and NGOs through an expanding network of locally based depots. In this documentary, It’s Africa’s Time focuses on how Shalina Healthcare is helping to expand a robust, compliant and responsible pharmaceutical industry in Angola.
In the documentary, the team meets a leading Angolan doctor and medical thought leader, a young mother, a nun at a mission clinic, a Shalina employee and Shalina executives to see how WHO standard affordable medicines are impacting each of their lives, the communities around them and the country as a whole.
